this challenge, offering education to area students and adults.
Located in New
Berlin, Pennsylvania, SUN Area Career & Technology Center provides
area students with skills needed to compete in today’s job market and
receive consideration for advanced college placement. Education is
also offered to adults, serving over 1500 people annually.

Shikellamy school districts in central Pennsylvania, you may be

The SUN Area
Career & Technology Center (SUN Tech) is committed to providing our
student and adult customers with a World Class career and technical
education that will prepare them for the 21st. century
workplace. This commitment has lead to the establishment of an ISO
Quality Management Team (QMT)
The QM Team’s hard work has enabled
SUN Tech to be View SUN
Tech's ISO Registration Certificate Registered “first in the USA” in February
2001.The world class, ISO 9001 registration for SUN Tech’s curriculum
and instructional delivery system has served to highlight the
exemplary career and technical education offered in 19 different
programs leading to over 133 career choices. Here are but a few of
the world class examples of SUN Tech (Lewisburg, Midd/West,
Mifflinburg, Selinsgrove and Shikellamy School Districts) student
career opportunities:
- The SUN Tech Quality
Management Team is nearing completion of the ISO 9001 registration
renewal for the new 9001:2000 Standards for education and training
institutions
- Drafting/CAD is using
the state-of the art Stratasys Dimension Machine which is used with
the Auto Desk is used for the manufacture of micro computer chips and
biomedical career areas Inventor program to make rapid prototypes
enabling students to go from design concept to a finished part within
five hours
- Electronics Technology –
Nan-O-Fabrication Manufacturing for micro chips or bio-medical careers
can use the 4200-SCS System. The 4200 Semiconductor System (SCS) is
an automated system to provide IV and CV characterization of
semiconductor devices and test structures. Its advanced digital sweep
parameter analyzer combines speed and accuracy for deep sub-micron
characterization. Source and measurement functions for a test are
provided by up to eight Source-Measure Units (SMUs). Test
capabilities are extended by support of a variety of external
components. The Motic zoom stereo microscopes with continuous zoom
system 1:4. Total magnification varies from 2.5x to 120x depending on
the eyepieces and auxiliary objectives used. It is the best equipment
to examine all types of gross materials in three dimensions for
industrial, biological and educational applications.
- Precision Machining-
Automated manufacturing is a necessity of a technologically advanced
economy. Technicians producing the hardware needed for new
technologies are being trained right here at SUN Tech. The Precision
Machining program incorporates CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing)
using state0of0the-art, Haas CNC machining centers. Mastercam
software, an industry standard, is used to develop and design drawings
of actual parts, which are then generated into a code the CNC machine
uses to produce the part.
Technically
skilled and educated technicians of the 21st. century will
command higher wages as they become the new middle income workers in
our valley. SUN Tech graduates can live and earn family sustaining
wages in our region and are not required to move away, which we
believe is a Win-Win situation for our valley’s residents and
businesses.
