Registration Form

Use the attached Registration Coupon to register for any SUN TECH evening course.

Advanced Registration

Advance registration is by coupon through January 22, 2010. Registration can be completed by filling in the coupon and returning to the school with payment. Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Regular Registration

Regular registration for those who did not register by coupon will be conducted from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on September 2 at SUN Area Technical Institute, New Berlin, Pennsylvania. Fall classes begin the week of September 20, 2010. All registrants should report for their first scheduled class unless otherwise notified. Only those individuals who are enrolled in a class under the minimum will be notified.

General Information

Class Information

All courses will be offered if a minimum of ten individuals enroll and if we can obtain the services of a qualified instructor. The SUN Area Technical Institute reserves the right to limit class size.

Eligibility

Those eligible for enrollment include adults and out-of-school youths who have passed their eighteenth birthday. Having the ability to profit from instruction is the principal qualification for the class membership.

Course Fees

Program fees vary according to class. Payment should be included with the Advance Registration Coupon and must be in the form of a U.S. Postal Money Order or check. All payment must be made to the order of SUN Tech.

Texts and Shop Materials

Tuition costs do not include textbooks, if required. Shop materials used by students in personal shop projects are not included in tuition costs. These will be billed at a nominal charge.

Refunds

The school reserves the right to refuse a tuition refund if a student withdraws within 10 days or less of the scheduled start date. There will be no refunds after attending the first class.

Grades

Grades will be issued to all individuals participating in the Adult Education Program.

      Pennsylvania State Inspection

      The course is designed and written by PA Department of Transportation.  It covers PA State Inspection Regulations relating to passenger cars and light trucks.  It provides opportunity for self study concerning heavy truck and motorcycle inspection.  Upon passing written and tactile portions of testing, student may obtain state certification in one or all vehicle categories.  It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that the student have previous work experience with the vehicle type that corresponds with the category in which they are testing.  The course does not provide instruction concerning the common practices used to diagnose and repair the above vehicles.  Cost includes tuition, book, one written test and one special category written test and tactile test.  Tuition includes textbook.  Additional special category tests are $40.  For an application go to:  http://www.sun-tech.org/adult-ed/inspection-certification/ or call 570-966-1031, extension 113.
