will be conducted from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on
September 4 at SUN Area Career and Technology
Center, New Berlin, Pennsylvania. Fall classes
begin the week of September 22,
unless stated otherwise. All registrants should
report for their first scheduled class unless
otherwise notified. Only those individuals who
are enrolled in a class under the minimum will
be notified.
Spring classes begin the
week of February 11, 2008, unless stated otherwise.

GENERAL INFORMATION |

Class Information
All courses will be offered if a
minimum of ten individuals enroll and if we can obtain
the services of a qualified instructor. The SUN Area
Center and Technology Center reserves the right to limit
class size.
Eligibility
Those eligible
for enrollment include adults and out-of-school youths
who have passed their sixteenth birthday. Having the
ability to profit from instruction is the principle
qualification for the class membership.
Course Fees
Program fees vary according to class. Payment should
be included with the Advance
Registration Coupon and
must be in the form of a U.S. Postal Money Order or
check. All payment must be made to the order of SUN
Area Tech School.
Texts and Shop
Materials
Tuition costs do not include textbooks, if required.
Shop materials used by students in personal shop projects
are not included in tuition costs. These will be billed
at a nominal charge.
Refunds
The school
reserves the right to refuse a tuition refund if a student
withdraws within 10 days or less of the scheduled start
date. There will be no refunds after attending the first
class.
Grades
Grades will be issued to all individuals participating
in the Adult Education Program.

NEW BUILDING MAINTENANCE CERTIFICATE
SUN Area Career and Technology Center will offer a planned program for a Building Maintenance Certificate through our
Adult Evening Program. The Building Programs Certificate is designed to prepare individuals for entry-level positions
in the building maintenance field. Students will learn the fundamental concepts of each trade. Students who successfully
complete all the courses will be issued the Building Maintenance Certificate. Courses will be offered as needed. Not all
courses will be offered every semester.

Wow! You have a new digital camera! It’s really cool, but just like your old film camera; you have no idea how to use it. Caning Chairs:
For those interested in learning to: cane a chair with holes around the seat, weave a chair seat that has dowels on all four sides, use pressed cane to replace a seat with a groove around the opening. Anyone can do this! You will have a completed project by the end of the classes. Please bring the chair or stool with you to the first class, along with a pencil & paper, scissors and/or a utility knife, & a ruler marked to a sixteenth of an inch. If you don’t have anything to cane, you can choose and order a stool during the first class. Supplies for caning will cost between $10 -$20 depending on your project, which participants can order after the first class.

Introduction to Veterinary Medicine:
Do you love animals and did you ever say as a child, “I want to be a veterinarian when I grow up?” This course examines the fascinating history between humans and animals. Students learn about different educational opportunities, as well as, hear from professionals from a variety of veterinary disciplines. Medical challenges, wonders, and professionals hazards will be highlighted. The course will conclude with a tour of a local veterinary practice. This course is a prerequisite for part two in a series of courses. The second course will be offered in the spring of 2009 and will provide students with the knowledge and skill necessary to obtain an entry level job as a small animal veterinary assistant. Please bring a 3-ring binder for handouts.
