Mifflinburg High School has SUN Tech’s Criminal Justice and HVAC programs on display.

Students in Criminal Justice learn the skills required for employment in professions like law enforcement, security, corrections, 911 dispatch, store security and military police.  Criminal Justice students acquire these skills through classroom training and hands-on experience. The Criminal Justice program features simulators to create real-life experiences including a 9-11 Dispatch simulator and firearms training simulator.

HVAC & Plumbing Technology students at SUN Tech learn basic system design as well as the installation and servicing of modern HVAC systems through practice in the laboratory or at a real job site.  SUN emphasizes developing student skills used in residential and commercial installation and repair jobs.  In addition to residential and commercial plumbing and heating applications, we introduce students in HVAC & Plumbing Technology to green technologies including solar and geothermal applications.

Students in both Criminal Justice and HVAC have opportunities to earn college credits while they attend SUN Tech.  Please contact us for more information!

Midd-West and SUN Tech’s world have collided! SUN Area Technical Institute’s Collision Repair Technology program is proudly on display at Midd-West High School.

Students in SUN Tech’s Collision Repair program will gain hands in experience in all aspects of the collision repair industry including major and minor collision repair, MIG welding, base-clear and tri-coat refinishing, color matching and blending, SMC and urethane plastic repair, glass service, and supplement restraint systems.

In addition to earning valuable industry experience, Collision Repair students can earn college credits through the Penn College PC Now program.

The tools of the Masonry trade are currently on display at Midd-West High School.

SUN Area Technical Institute’s Masonry program combines equal parts physical and mental activity.  Students in Masonry learn to create quality with in brick, block, stone, and other masonry materials that will stand the test of time.  Students will also develop an understanding of construction-related mathematics, blueprint reading, job site organization, and job site safety.

Students enrolled in SUN Tech’s Masonry program can earn college credits during their senior year of high school through the Penn College PCNow program.

A TEAM can get the job done. Using The Seals traditional colors of blue and red for our display case at Selinsgrove HS, along with current SUN Tech/Selinsgrove HS students photo’s and descriptions… The Buzz of a new display case is abound in Seal Country. Many faculty and students were impressed with our photo’s of current students and the display of our overall presentation.

(November 1, 2013) SUN Tech’s Electrical Systems Technology program is on display at Mifflinburg High School.  This program is a great choice for students who enjoy working with their hands just as much as their brains!

Electrical Systems Technology students learn the skills required to wire residential and commercial buildings.  They’ll also learn about industrial controls as well as wiring and programming PLC’s (programmable logic controllers).  Not only do students learn a rewarding trade: they can also earn college credits during their year at SUN Tech.

SUN Tech’s Masonry program is currently featured in the display case at Shikellamy High School. If you’re interested in attending, there’s still room in the class and still a week left to switch to SUN Tech!

In Masonry students learn bricklaying, blocklaying, concrete construction, chimney and fireplace construction, tile work, material estimation, and many other skills required for a successful career in this rewarding trade!

The display case at Shikellamy High School has been updated to feature our Ad Art program.

Out with the old and in with the new! Our display at Shikellamy High School is now featuring Advertising Art and Design.  Our Co-op Coordinator Joe Weisser visited the school and said,

During my time at Shik this morning administrators, counselors, administrative assistants, teachers, and students stopped by and commended us on our vibrant displays, creativity, and punctual changes. Many of the students and staff know this as our little message area from SUN.  One teacher said it is the best display case in the high school.  Kudos to all that ‘Makes this Happen’ for us!
