National/State Certification
Auto Technology students receive a
certificate upon graduation stating that they have completed the
year-long program. To receive a Pennsylvania Skills Certificate from the
state, students must pass a comprehensive written and performance test
at the end of the school year. Employers consider this certificate proof
that the student has demonstrated competency in both the overall
knowledge and the hands-on skills necessary to function as an
entry-level technician.
In addition to the state certificates,
the Sun Tech Auto Technology Program is one of about 10 in Pennsylvania
to achieve certification by the National Institute For Automotive
Service Excellence in such areas as engine performance, electrical
systems, heating and air conditioning, brakes, suspension and steering.
