 The
Information Technology program at SUN TECH offers entry level training
in a wide variety of computer related technologies. The program has
been re-structured to provide training that leads to national
certifications to ensure that SUN graduates will be employable,
possess the correct skills set, and be a cut above their peers upon
graduation.
SUN TECH is a CISCO
Networking Academy and offers the students the opportunity to study to
become a CCNA (Certified Cisco Network Associate). Students also have
the opportunity to become C-TECH certified in Copper and Fiber Optic
Network Cabling. The Computer Maintenance curriculum provides them
with entry level skills in A+ Computer Maintenance and can lead to
students becoming A+ certified. Students also have the opportunity to
learn fundamental web design skills utilizing FrontPage 2002. They
have the opportunity to learn fundamental skills in Network
Administration through the study of Windows 2000 Server and
Professional which could lead them to becoming a MCP (Microsoft
Certified Professional). Last, but not least, they have the
opportunity to learn the skills required in computer networking to
take the COMP / TIA Net+ certification test.
There
are numerous opportunities in the Information Technology program for
students who are motivated, disciplined, and willing to put forth the
hard work required in this career path.
