The Computer Aided Drafting program prepares students for
entry into the workforce as Drafting/CAD operators, both Mechanical and
Architectural. Students learn the principles of Drafting, specific
Mechanical and Architectural symbols, and graphical representation by
using the industry standard AutoCAD 2010 CAD software program. Hands-on
training is the focus of the program, with practical workbook-type
projects to reemphasize the theory learning process.
Drafting CAD Technology students may achieve up to 9.0
college credits for Mechanical Drafting and 3.0 college
credits for Architectural Drafting at Penn
College of Technology while enrolled at SUN Area Technical Institute.
The students meet entrance qualifications to achieve the college level courses.
