The Electronics Technology program at SUN TECH prepares students for entry level positions in the workforce as Electronics Technicians or for entry into higher education after graduation. Students learn the fundamentals of Electronics through theory and hands-on lab experimentation. Students study basic AC and DC circuits, Semiconductors, and Digital Electronics. Students also study PC Maintenance and are prepared to take their COMPTIA (Computer Technology Industry Association) A+ exam by the end of the course. The Electronics Program will prepare students to go into career areas such as Fiber Optics, Satellite Communications, Cellular Communications, Robotics, Laser Optics, Wireless Communications, Nanofabrication (Integrated Circuit Design), and many other exciting and challenging careers.
Students participate in PC building projects where they get to experience building and customizing Personal Computers. They also get the chance to service many of the computers located throughout our school through the assistance of our school networking department.
