The Food Service Program at SUN Area Career and Technology Center will
prepare students for an ever increasing variety of positions and
titles available within the food service industry or higher education
in the sciences involved
This objective is achieved through:
• Emphasis on sanitation, safety and proper use and care of both small
and large industrial equipment.
• Academic and “hands-on” training in food preparation and
presentation
• Management skills necessary for successful interactions between you
and the public
• Effective management skills needed for planning, food cost,
inventory, ordering, receiving and cash control.
Projects both inside and outside of the laboratory are used to
reinforce lessons taught in the classroom. The course content is
selected with the advice and consent of a local Industry Advisory
Committee.
