The Health Professions and Related sciences program prepares students with entry level skills to gain employment in the Health Care field. Students planning to further their education in health care would benefit from the program. Students learn about many Health Careers, related skills, including Nursing care , medical assistant , and medical receptionist skills.
Students learn medical terminology, anatomy and physiology ,infection control, safety, CPR/ first aid, Continuous Quality Improvement concepts, Leadership and employability skills. Learning takes place within the classroom and in the health care setting including long term care facilities, hospitals, or physicians offices. Included in the program is a state approved Nurse Aide Course. Students meeting the requirements are eligible to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program Examination.
