The welding program provides students with the hands-on training and
theoretical background required to enter the workforce as combination
welders, production welders or arc welders. The curriculum was developed
with input from local industries and includes the setup and operation of
equipment just like that found in the workplace.
Students' knowledge of mechanical properties and effects of heat on
steel, aluminum, cast iron, stainless steel and other metals is
increased. Students plan and fabricate projects according to blueprints
and other specifications.
Training includes welding techniques used to weld plate, pipe and
tubing in all positions. All major welding and cutting processes are
covered. The curriculum also includes destructive and nondestructive
testing and inspecting of welds.
