Wood Products Manufacturing
 
 
The 2000-01 school year marked a year of great change for the
Wood Products Manufacturing class at SUN TECH. The addition of a new KOMO VR
508 Machining Center assures that SUN TECH students are being trained on
the most up-to-date equipment available. Students are trained how to
draw parts using Auto CAD 2000, and then program these parts using CIM
TECH’S ROUTER CIM programming software. Students then learn
tooling set-up and CNC machine operations to machine the parts they have
drawn and programmed. Students graduating from the Wood Products
Manufacturing, have a fundamental understanding of the principals
and operations of CNC technology, making them a valuable asset to the
areas employers.
