The primary purpose of the SUN Area Career & Technology Center is to provide a world class program of studies that will enable students to start their careers by developing employability/ transferable skills to become quality workers, self-supporting, respectable citizens, and life-long learners. To accomplish this aim, students must not only become skilled in their chosen occupational field, but receive cross-training in related occupations to develop those traits necessary to interact and communicate with other people in related occupational fields. In this way, young men and women with the ability and ambition to attain success and leadership in their chosen fields will be prepared to adapt themselves to the constantly changing demands of society.

CAREER PATH TO HIGHER EDUCATION: Harrisburg Area Community College and SUN Area Career & Technology Center are partners for success. Many of our programs are articulated to give students a head start on college and their careers. You, as a SUN TECH graduate , can be awarded advanced placement credit at the Harrisburg Area Community College, Pennsylvania College of Technology, or one of 47 other schools of your choice.
