Volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application and obtain the Act 151 and Act 34 clearances, along with signing the Volunteer Affidavit in lieu of the Act 114 FBI Fingerprint Clearance if they are PA residents and have been for the past 10 years.  The links below can be used to obtain Volunteer Clearances, be sure to select that you are obtaining them for Volunteer purposes.  *Note* Volunteer clearances CAN NOT be used for employment purposes.

Employment Requirements Checklist

  1. Process Act 151 Child Abuse Check. Creating an account and submitting your clearance application online will give you immediate access to your results, or the status of your results, if your results cannot be processed immediately.
  2. Process, using service code 1KG6NX, Act 114 Federal Criminal History Report.  You WILL be required to schedule an appointment to have your fingerprints taken.
  3. Process Act 34 PA State Police Background Clearance.  The results will not be mailed. You must return to the ePatch site and print your criminal history check results.
  4. Complete the Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse: Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania Online Training.  Print the Certificate of Completion.
  5. Submit resumé, pre-employment application, and the 4 reports listed above to:

The SUN Area Technical Institute is currently seeking an experienced, student-centered, highly qualified leader to fill the position of Assistant Administrative Director. Located in New Berlin, PA, SUN Tech proudly serves over 250 students from five area school districts in a senior year only delivery model.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or Graduate Degree in an education-related field
  2. Valid PDE Vocational Director’s* or Principal’s certification with a minimum of three years’ experience required
  3. Experience in career and technical education highly preferred
  4. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

*The applicant may be currently enrolled in a valid, approved Pennsylvania Vocational Administrative Director certification program, with PDE Vocational Director Certification issued within one year of hire.

Superior Communicator: This highly visible administrator will utilize their engaging personality to support collaboration and growth among students, staff, and community members.

Strong Leader: The new Assistant Director needs to be innovative, highly organized, detail-oriented, aware of national, state, and local trends in quality CTE, and dedicated to the long-term success of SUN Tech. This should be clearly visible in their level of commitment to professional growth of the staff and self, leadership of teams, staff supervision, marketing of the school, securing federal and state funds, and overall school excellence.

Compensation

A regionally competitive salary and benefit package based on training, experience, and education will be offered to the successful candidate.

Part-Time Certified Nurse Aide Instructor

SUN Area Technical Institute is seeking to fill an immediate opening for a Part-Time Certified Nurse Aide Instructor.

Applicants must be Registered Nurses with a minium of 2 years experience in long term care (as a RN).  Must have completed the train-the-trainer course.

Adult Evening PA State Inspection Instructor

Substitute Teachers

The SUN Area Technical Institute is in need of day-to-day substitute teachers! WORK WHEN YOU WANT

Day-to-day substitute teachers are called to work with students when the regular teacher is not available due to approved conferences, illness, etc. Ordinarily, you will be provided with daily lesson plans. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Rate of Pay: $100.00 per day.
To substitute in technical areas, individuals are required to have experience in the trade area and a high school diploma or GED. A college education is NOT required! Approved substitutes must be able to provide valid Act 34 (State Police), Act 151 (Child Abuse), and FBI Fingerprint Clearances prior to the first day of employment.
