For the Community
SUN Area Technical Institute has a long and proud history of being a force for positive change in the Susquehanna Valley. Here are just some of the ways that SUN Tech helps our community.
Community Service Projects
Each year students and faculty at SUN Tech take part in community service projects including dress-down days which raise money for the American Cancer Society, building dug-outs for local ball fields, and larger projects such as a barn wiring project for Ashburn’s Animals on a Mission.
I had the greatest pleasure of working with the students and instructor of the electrical program from SUN Area Technical Institute. Never before have I met a more responsible, mature and educated group of young adults. After the project, I toured the school and was very impressed at how advanced the learning programs were and what incredible educators and staff were employed. The entire experience was above any expectations I had. Thanks SUN Tech. Janel Ashburn, Owner, Ashburn Animal Farm & Shelter Non Profit

Participate in our Recycling Fundraiser
You can help SUN Tech students and help the environment at the same time by participating in our e-waste recycling fundraiser! We’ll accept ink cartridges, toner cartridges, laptops, MP3 Players, phones, tablet devices like iPads and Androids, headphones, digital camera, and GPS devices. Don’t worry–they don’t have to work! Drop any of these items off at SUN Tech or send them in with a SUN Tech student. Funds raised by recycling these items will help pay for student activities such as participation in SkillsUSA and HOSA.
